Great blog! I especially love the photos of the Islamiyya and Maiden’s Tower–judging by them, a view from Baku would be a very beautiful one.

A debate every night – I actually kind of like that. More time for debating the issues means, I presume, less time for ad blitzing and photo ops.

There’s also less drama attached to any one single debate, like here in the USA, where if a candidate says something dumb one night, his or her whole campaign is in trouble.

The Azerbaijanis might be onto something.

Jim,

I’m going to miss your blog. It’s been a treat to follow along on your adventure in Baku. But the bigger treat is going to be having you back home. It’s going to be a feast of gratitude being together again for Thanksgiving. It’s delicious to think about counting all our blessings!

Say goodbye to your wonderful ADA group, and thank them for taking such good care of you! Tell them I look forward to our paths crisscrossing again. Next time on this side of the pond?
